Christmas Carols

The best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

We, the Rotaract Club of Kandy were extremely glad to celebrate Christmas with the elders of the “Mahaiyawa   elders’ home”, during our annual Christmas Carols project. We were joined by the Interact clubs of Trinity College and Mahamaya Girls’ College.

The project was held on 18th December 2019, at Mahaiyawa Elders Home.

The elders at the Mahaiyawa Elders home were excited to have us with them and they were eagerly waiting for us to come entertain them as every other year.

We sang carols, as well as “Baila”, that the elders excitedly joined with dancing and singing regardless of their physical and mental pains. It was a fun filled evening for everyone present at the home.

At the end of the program we wished the elders a joyful Christmas and a Happy New Year. It was indeed a great experience for all us as it has always been. Year after year we are encouraged to continue with this project to witness the bright and happy faces of these wonderful souls.
