The Rotaract Club of Kandy embraced the spirit of Christmas through its annual community service project. This year’s project aimed to bring the true meaning of Christmas to the needy, and it was carried out on the 24th of December 2022 at Daya Niwasa, a center for disabled children and elders located in Kandy.

For the past nine years, the Rotaract Club of Kandy has been organizing this project with the aim of spreading happiness and joy to those in need. This year, the project was made possible thanks to generous donations and sponsorship from Rtn. John Baskaran and his family.

The project involved donating dry rations to the Daya Niwasa Center, which would be used for the Christmas Day lunch. Due to the ongoing situation, the members had to spend less time with the children and elders, and the dry rations were handed over to the officials at the orphanage. Despite the challenges, the members of the Rotaract Club of Kandy were still enthusiastic about the project and grateful for the opportunity to bring joy to those in need.

The project was a reminder of the importance of helping those who are less fortunate, especially during the holiday season. This project by the Rotaract Club of Kandy’s annual community service avenue was a heartwarming reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. The project showcased the power of giving and how even small actions can make a significant impact on the lives of others.
