“A Forest Prayer” project was initiated by the Rotary Club of Kandy as a joint project with the Rotaract Club of Kandy and the Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya. It can also be identified as a collaborative “Grouped’Art”. The mural was defined according to its location as to educate and imply the importance of saving and preserving the environment as the mural was painted on a wall on the way to the Hanthana mountain range in Kandy. The Hanthana mountain range is a place where most hikers and tourists are attracted for the beauty that lies in it and fro the attraction. It is a well-known fact that people tend to pollute these greenery areas like mountain ranges and forests with polythene plastic and other waste that they take with them , and it a threat to the animals as they could consume those and as a result the lives of these animals would be in danger.
