‘Hopes of Paradise’ an annual signature project of Rotaract Club of Kandy, was held on the 06th of October 2019, in celebration of the “World Children’s day” under the avenue of Community Service.  The project was mainly focused for the students of Grade 4 of Senarathwela Madya Maha Vidyalaya, Digana, who will be sitting for the Grade 5 scholarship examination next year.

The objective of the project was to motivate students of an underprivileged school to do better in their education, as there are schools with potentials but with less facilities who are not able to afford to buy mock examination papers. Through this project we were able to achieve the objectives of guiding students to do better in their exams and to teach them the importance of team work, to motivate them to reach for their creative side and to provide them with an enjoyable time. We believe that we were able to provide students an educational and enjoyable time which will be a value to their future education.

The project included an educational workshop for the students giving them valuable tips on how to remember what they study, and preparing them for the upcoming scholarship examination. They were also presented Model papers that would help them with their studies. Later on, the children spent time engaging in fun activities at the children’s park before having their lunch.
The sight of them laughing their hearts out and running around with their friends, having no cares of the world, told us that this was one of our best moves, because we were able to give them one of the best days of their lives.

We were very delighted at the end of the project, since we were able to create Hope within them for a Paradise that awaits them in the future.
