[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Project Ape Rasa (අපේ රස) – “Our Tastes” was an International Service initiative by the Rotaract Club of Kandy to share local tastes with foreign Rotaract Clubs around the world and in exchange to share theirs with us. As the first phase we were delighted to share a small box of Sri Lankan food items and delicacies with the members of the Rotaract Club of Melbourne City in Australia. Items were selected and purchased from a local store packed neatly in beautiful box.
The contents included in the box were as follows, a brief description of the items and their ingredients were also included in the box :
- Real Tasty – Casava Chips
- Black & Gold – Gingelly Rolls
- Zesta – Fine Sri Lankan Tea Bags
- Kist – Woodapple Jam
- Uswatte – Fruity Jujubes
- Kist – Aloe Vera Drink
- Kandos – Peanut Milk Chocolate
- Ritzbury Coconut / Caramel Chocolates
- Maliban Lemon Puff
- Maliban Spicy Crackers
- Munchee Hawaian Cookies
- Munchee Ginger Zing Cookies / Kist Ginger Drink
We were able to build a better relationship with the Rotaract Club of Melbourne City developing the opportunity to do many more projects in the future. Members of RCMC mentioned to us that they enjoyed our delicacies very much and in return sent us a box of Australian goodies.
As a part of this project we were also able promote Rotaract in Sri Lanka and enhance the image of our country among foreign friends.
We thanked the President & Members of the Rotaract Club of Melbourne City for this great opportunity and look forward for your support in the future. Special thanks to Rtr. Thenuka & Rtr. Pravini for coordinating the project. At this juncture we would like to also thank our own Rtr. Rasika for taking the box to Melbourne. PM Anushika Perera was the Chairperson for this project.
