As the quote goes “We Rise by Lifting Others”; it has always been the motto of The Rotaract Club of Kandy to bring about a change in the life of someone who is in dire need of our aid and support. Ever since the start of the Covid 19 Pandemic, many people in our society have been overwhelmed by the issues aroused by it. In times where poverty stricken and low income gaining families are suffering vastly than ever, we as a Club, took the initiative in offering a helping hand to families who need our support, in the best possible way we can.
The main objective of Project Act 2.0 Awasilla was to give a supporting hand to the vulnerable communities across Kandy areas due to the these hard times and to help them with some dry ration which will fulfill their need at these times of crisis. We were able to pack and distribute dry rations worth more than 10000 LKT to families in Kandy area from the days of 23rd to 29th of August.
We were not only able to fill their plates with food, but also their faces with smiles, giving them hopes for their future, making them understand that they are not alone in these difficult times.
