Report Writing101
The class is in session. “Report Writing 101” trained the members of the Rotaract Club of Kandy on how to be a winner in report writing. It is important that we are precise, sophisticated and skilled in writing. The goal is not just writing to narrate but writing to communicate and to be clearly understood. When not given a chance to speak writing becomes the voice. And it is important that as young adults who are trying to win the world that we are well equipped and learnered on how to tastefully express ourselves on paper. Report writing is a crucial element in office environments, classroom requirements and every other small aspect of day to day lives of people. Therefore, the webinar touched on topics on how to analyze, observe, research and effectively write reports.
“Report writing 101” was successfully conducted on the 26th of July, 2020, by the special guest speaker Rtn. Tilani Subasinghe Secretary for the year 2020-21 at Rotary Club of Colombo City. She is one of our Past Presidents who is still loved and very much missed. Why is report writing important? May it be a project, meeting or an experiment, usually a report is produced at the end. The report gives an idea about the proceedings of the event for outsiders. Therefore, presenting a report with clear information is of utmost importance. The webinar provided important tips and tricks on how to write reports and articles for members of the Rotaract Club of Kandy.
The session was extremely productive and educational for all the participants and everyone was eager to interact with Rtn. Tilani Subasinghe. The interactive session allowed the members to clear any doubts they had and reflect upon areas that they were in need of improving. The project “Report Writing 101” mainly aimed for professional development of the members of the club. With the entire year ahead the project proved to be beneficial as report writing is an important step in The Rotaract context as well. The lessons learned in the session would not only matter in the present day but it will be valuable in the future too as learning is never a waste. No one can take that away from you.
