Achieving Sustainable Development Goals Through Non-Violence

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] The Rotaract Club of Kandy ventured out to assist a massive advocacy campaign “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals through Non-Violence” in the aim of highlighting the participation of the youth of the country towards sustainable peace and development. The campaign was organized by The Association of War Affected Women, a Non-Government Organization in Kandy, Sri Lanka on 11th -13th January, 19th January and 9th February 2019. The project chaired by Rtr. Nuzla Askin.

Japanese Student Delegation

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The members of the Rotaract Club of Kandy was invited to an interactive meeting between the Association of War Affected Women Kandy and a group of 20 Japanese student delegates from the faculty of Law of Hosei University, Japan. They were visiting Sri Lanka to study the culture and social views in Sri Lanka. The interactive meeting took place on the 11th of February 2019 at 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

Thaipongal Celebrations

Thai Pongal is a four-day- long festival celebrated by Tamil Hindus as the thanksgiving for the rain Gods and for the year’s harvest. Therefore, the members of the Rotaract Club of Kandy celebrated Thai Pongal along with Annai Illam Mannar orphanage girls who are affected by war in order pursue happiness on this blessed day, while getting to know what Thai Pongal is and strengthening the bond between the club
